The Kennedy Center shut its main building to the public at about 4.30 on Tuesday afternoon, hours after its board voted to close it for two years. Guards stood at the doors. Staff were seen hugging through the glass. The Honors and the Mark Twain Prize move elsewhere, the REACH stays open, and everything that filled the building for the rest of the year does not.
